Hooray for love and cookies!

So I'd just like to let the world know that my dear friend Walter (who some may know as the Owl, the Choir Gnome, Slave-Monkey Minion, Chior Lackey, or other such aliases) is a SUPER COOL GUY! Story below:

I went to the Conrans to Dr. C-sit this morning while Karen played the organ at church. 'Twas much fun. He's hilarious even when he's doped up on Phenergan. =) Anyhoo, as I was leaving, Karen mentioned she had something for me... she said, "Someone mentioned you might appreciate these..." and she gave me OATMEAL COOKIES!!! Mmmmmmoatmealcookies. Then she said, "I hear you like to pick the raisins out." Well, I do, but she has never seen me eat an oatmeal-raisin cookie... this must be the work of the Owl! And indeed, it was. And that is why he is so super-cool. Hooray for cookies!!

I have a new project. I need to bake something that doesn't use: corn, wheat, egg, dairy, peanuts, or grass pollen. I know a neat recipe for gluten(wheat)-free bread, but I need to figure out how to use oil and egg substitute instead of butter and egg. Should be interesting. =) Man, this baking thing is cool!!

Mmm... pie.
So I made this pie. It was going to be strawberry pie, but I didn't have enough strawberries, so it sort of evolved into a strawberry-blackberry-peach pie, with some pear puree in the filling just for bulk and sweetness. It hasn't set yet, and I am afraid to try it. Anyone wanna volunteer? Please?? =)
