You will so not believe what happened yesterday.
I talked with Jeremy for a bit on campus. Then we both drove off. I looked in my rearview as I was leaving and noticed flashing blue lights, and a white car pulled over, so I called Jeremy on the cell. Sho nuff, he'd been pulled over by the Campus Doughnut Patrol. So I drove back to alibi him (he was NOT in a good mood at all.)
As I pull in the parking lot that they're in, I realize... one of the officers is one of the two mofos that harassed Walter and I a while back. It was the nicer one, fortuantely. Though he still wasn't very nice. So I called Jeremy... "Be careful, this is one of those assholes I told you about!" Evidentally he already knew... this cop had said to him, "Yeah, I recognize her... she has a bad attitude." Uh huh. Politely asking why you want to see my license when I haven't done a damn thing wrong is a bad attitude? Right. But anyway.
They were there for a really, really long time! Neither of us could figure out exactly what Jeremy had done wrong, or what they were gonna do about it. Finally, the truth comes out. His tags were expired (damn it, I TOLD you to get that done...) and when they pulled him over they had asked for his license and registration. The reg said "Kerry Michael" on it. They thought he had stolen the car! I am glad I went back to check on him, or they might have arrested him! But anyway. They talked to me, found out the car was in my name and he was allowed to be driving it, and all was well. They go back to talk to him about the expired tags... he breaks down in tears... "she told me to do it, I forgot, we're separated, we just got in a fight, I'm sorry, I'll get it done..."
They let him go. ;)
It seems my reputation as having a bad attitude made this dude feel sorry for Jeremy. ;) *evil grin*
So that was fun.
I think I am going to join the Peace Corps. I'll finish my masters here at UAH, then sign on for a 27-month committment to education at-risk youth in English, the sciences, and health. Then I'll come back and go to medical school. Then I'll join the Peace Corps again and go heal the sick! See, the whole reason I'm iffy about medical school is because I don't want to deal with the politics of practicing medicine. I don't want to have to worry about lawsuits, about prescribing Ritalin or not, all that crap. I want to heal people who need it, and that's it. Peace Corps would help take care of the massive student loans med students incur, so that would be cool. This seems like an awesome way to go.
*goes and buys an MCAT study guide* =)
Okay, my life is planned out. I feel better now. =)
All righty. To dinner with Walter, to see Spiderman 2 (woooot!) with Nathan, then for "a talk" with Jeremy. Hm. We'll see how this goes.
Love and pie to all!
