Jul. 12th, 2004 12:48 pmI was awakened this morning by total, complete silence.
True silence is very rare. There is always the hum of electric things, the whirr of the computer fan, the deeper hum of the AC. This morning, there was none of that. And the silence was loud enough to drag me from a sound sleep.
Of course, that all ended two minutes later when the power came back on and my security system (that I never use) loudly reset itself, along with the neighborhood chorus of loud bongs and hoots.
The power proceeded to go off and come back on a total of three times. Imagine my frustration... each time, I have to reset the router to get my internet back! Every time I managed to get to LJ and get my AIM signed on, the damn power would go off again.
My friends, I do believe we've high-teched ourselves right back into the Stone Age.
It was kinda cool though. I took Freya out to poop and a whole load of people were out on their patios just kinda chillin. Much friendliness occurred.
It seems there may be two more storms headed more or less this way. Woot!
Hokay, so. There needs to be bowling, and there needs to be horseback riding.
