SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PETS!!!

So I was just hangin around, chillin, when I check my email and see I have one from Walter. Walter, I ask? How is that, when he is at work? The email was an urgent plea to several people... someone had dropped off (without a word, I may add!) a box at Tony's... and it was meowing.

Several hours later, Kerry is walking to her car with three 6-week-old kittens in a cardboard box. (The punk kid who dropped them off decided he wanted to keep one. Besides the other six kittens just born this morning they now have to place. And the five they already have.)

Very cute kitties! They are quite content living in my spare bedroom. I bought a litterbox and food and stuff... they are very very happy playing with spare cardboard bits I had lying around, and the towels I put in there. And Freya loves them! She likes to lick them on the forehead. =) Two of them are not so fond of this... one adores her and they look like mama and baby... except for the whole dog-and-cat thing.

Cat #1 is white, with some colored patches. His/her name is Thor. This both goes along with the Norse god/dess theme, and is short for Thorazine. (Per Walter's suggestion. Thanks!) =) This is the one that loves Freya. =)

Cat #2 is named Valkyrie, or Val for short. I think her/his nickname will be Valium. This floofy black-and-white kitty is pretty lethargic a lot of the time. =)

Cat #3 is sort of a black-dark-brown-stripy-ish kitty. His/her name is Magellan because he/she immediately cased the room and identified every bit of it, then begged to be let out to do some more exploring.

I just took a Benadryl and I'm slathered in cortisone cream where the little scratch marks swelled up. I adore these babies, and I can keep them for a while, but I cannot live like this indefinitely. So if you know ANYone who wants a kitten, please please please refer them to me. I'm taking them tomorrow to get checkups and shots.

But yeah. Very friendly kitties that tolerate dogs and other cats very well, are well-behaved, already litter-trained, and love to cuddle. Walter, I'll hold one for you if you want a kitty when you get in your new apartment. (I think you and Thor would get along very well.) =)

Well, the kitties checked out well health-wise! I'm going to observe them for a week, and if they haven't gotten sick with anything, off they go to get vaccinated. They have ear mites, but they're too small to be treated so we're just going to wait. Dr. Castro-Jones thinks they're about 6 weeks old, but smaller and less coordinated than they should be at that age. So they were probably living in that cardboard box for a long time. And we found their genders... Thor is a boy and Valkyrie is a girl.

And Dr. C-J adopted Magellan! She thought she was so cute that she lost her argument with herself and asked to take Maggie home. So I have two kitties now. =) But I miss my cutie-tabby-kitty. *sniffle*
