My daddy raised me to tell the truth.
Aug. 19th, 2004 03:13 amToday has been rather worthwhile! First one in a long time.
I got up at noon, which is amazingly early at the moment. I showered, got dressed, etc, and made my way down to campus. Had a counseling session (Yet again, reiterating that I'm ADD and a cold-hearted bitch) then ran a bunch of the errands I had been meaning to. I got all the paperwork for my GTA in!
This GTA thing has been great. They sent me the paperwork on July 9-- to an address I didn't even know existed. So after I call asking about it they sent it to my *actual* address. Except it was supposed to go to the Dean's Office first and it never did. So I had to go sign some stuff, make copies, then swing by Human Resources to fill out payroll stuff. Got my direct deposit set up, and I go to the training session for all GTAs on Monday! WOOT! I am about to be useful!!!
I came home and baked the oatmeal wedges. Ya know wax paper and heated corn syrup are really good friends? Grease, my friends... grease. Learn from my mistakes! =) Then I headed out to go bowling with Ryan, Drew and Ben. (Walter, I called you! You never called me!)
Here is the funny part. Partially funny ha-ha, and partially funny weird. Ben and I were sitting outside on our cars, talking about randomness, when this guy appears. His story: he was hurt, he's poor, he needs something for his injured hip, he's a good guy, smart, hard working, and his daddy raised him to tell the truth and he really needs something for the pain in his hip... could he please have some money? Ben is nicer than me... so dude got $1.25 in change. He bought a cigar with it... we saw him later. But yeah. He also smelled rather pungently of alcohol, and I was not about to give him money to buy painkillers off the street.
But he asked God to bless us, so I guess it's all okay.
Then it was off to the Waffle Ho, where there are still weird people but they are usually more polite. Remind me, I owe you a pitcher! Anyway. I learned more about Warhammer than I shall ever (I hope!) have opportunity to use. Much fun. =)
And now I am home. Thor is crawling down my arm. Silly kitty. I think I should bake something. I'm still rather awake. Maybe I'll try that bread! Mmm... yeah. It will need time to rise and all... I should be sleepy by the time it's done! :)
I AM MOVING TOMORROW!!! (Or today. August 19.) I HAVE TEH KEY TO TEH NEW APARTMENT AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HELP ME HAUL CRAP IS PERFECTLY WELCOME!! I will probably wake up around... one pm? So call me whenever... wake me up; I shouldn't sleep that late.
And if you know anyone with a truck... that would be very helpful. =)
